If you use your backup email to authenticate your Xero login, you should receive an email from Xero containing a verification code. If you have trouble answering your security questions to authenticate your Xero login, try entering your answers again. You might have entered the wrong answer. You can change your backup method to using a backup email instead. When you log in to Xero, you can select a box to skip the authenticate step for up to 30 days.

The Trust this device feature is only available if you log in using an authenticator app on a device such as a smartphone or desktop computer. It isn't designed to work if you're logging in using a backup method, as these methods should only be used if you can't access your authenticator app.

The Trust this device feature is also linked to the specific computer and browser you were using when you selected the box. During setup, Xero generates a new QR code or setup key to enter into your authentication app. If you lose your phone or device that has your authenticator app on it, we recommend you change your Xero login password. If you use security questions as your backup authentication method, you might also want to change your security questions.

When you get a new device, set it up with MFA. If MFA is mandatory for you, you'll need to do this before you use Xero. You can use your backup authentication method to log in to Xero until you're all set up. If you don't yet have a new device, find out how to set up MFA without a smartphone or tablet. You can't download Xero Verify Check your device's operating system. While there is a code that can be entered with Xero Verify, the extra benefit of this authentication method are the push notifications that can be set up to streamline your login.

Hi, also having trouble WAY too slow. I have to wait and wait until I get the box saying 'resend verification? Big waste of time. Can't it just send first time?

By comparison ASB bank sends a Netcode text within 2 seconds of payment request being made I have found a perfect 2 step solution to this problem. This is most certainly what I will be doing at the end of the financial year, earlier if I can make up the time this total pants-fest of a click-maximising piece of junk has cost me. I cannot get Xero Verify to work. There's nowhere to scan a QR code, nowhere is there an option to add an e-mail address for the code to come through to, , and the set-up key is an aspect of pure fiction.

It doesn't exist. The whole process is arduously tortuous. Why not use a system that works. The Xero Verify App is downloaded on my phone with my user e-mail address, but nothing ever connects so I can log in to my desktop computer.
